cakemanTo escape the winter weather we revisited Cuba flying into Holguin, touring rural Cuba on the Revolutionary trail and visiting laid-back Santiago de Cuba.

In their beautiful climate all of life is conducted on the streets and there is a picture on every corner in this fascinating town.

As in the rest of the country old cars and crumbling architecture feature heavily and there is live music everywhere. Games of chess in the main square are keenly contested and are for men only apparently.

Queues form outside the popular cake shops and the Cuban love of sugar is reflected in this bloke's gap-toothed smile.
